Australia Flood Coal profitable RI

Singgih explained, coal exports to Australia could be done to supply the demand in the Atlantic region.

"With the flood, it is clear the Indonesian market will go to supply coal in Australia. Just see how big that can not be met by Australia," he said.

Singgih added, although confronted by extreme weather, coal production in Indonesia continues to increase. Based on the count of the government, coal production is estimated to reach 320 million tons.

In addition, with the number of mining permit (IUP), which amounted to thousands, it can increase the production of 20-30 million tons.

"So, this is an opportunity for Indonesia because of the coal market is supplied by Indonesia and Australia," he said.

2011, Economic Diplomacy So the Focus RI

Indonesian foreign policy in 2011 will focus on economic diplomacy to national development. In addition, Indonesia as chairman of the ASEAN region will ensure order situation conducive to the creation of an ASEAN Community by 2015.

One of the concrete economic diplomacy is to open representative offices in 10 countries by the end of 2010. With this move is expected to market a new economy for Indonesia can be created. For 2011, Indonesia plans to open new representative offices in 21 countries members of the UN.

"With the opening of diplomatic relations with 21 countries, then Indonesia will have formal diplomatic relations with all UN members," said Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, at its annual press reports at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, Friday, January 7, 2011.

Only one UN member state would not have diplomatic relations with Indonesia, is Israel. Previously, on various occasions, Marty said that Indonesia would open diplomatic relations with Israel if Israel recognized the independence of Palestine, and to stop settlement construction.

In 2011, Indonesia who will become chairman of ASEAN, has identified three main priorities in his leadership. First, Indonesia will ensure year 2011 will be marked by progress significantly in achieving the ASEAN community.

"Together with the ASEAN countries, Indonesia will also identify other areas of cooperation that require special attention," said Marty.

Second, Indonesia will ensure the maintenance of order and the situation in the region conducive to efforts to achieve development. Indonesia in 2011 will continue its leadership to finalize the agenda and the strategic role of the East Asia Summit.

"Indonesia believes East Asia Summit to be the main forum of heads of state or government level to discuss strategic issues, both at global and regional level," he said.

Third, as chairman of ASEAN, Indonesia will be rolling the discussion about the need to post the ASEAN Vision 2015, namely the role of the ASEAN community in the world community.

Marty describes post-2015, is expected to create an ASEAN community to contribute to the creation of world peace and security. In addition, the ASEAN economic community post-2015 world economic growth is also strong, stable, open and balanced. ASEAN Community is also expected to participate in pushing the value of democracy, human rights and tolerance at the global level.
